MyNT Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson positions available now

These are voluntary positions with a focus on convening and presiding over meetings, ensuring that MyNT governance is done in accordance to accepted guidelines, and representing the organisation to external individuals and organisations.

The Vice-Chairperson shall act on behalf of the Chairperson as deemed necessary.


  • Conduct meetings in a professional manner, ensuring that all members are equally heard
  • Summarise all discussions and debates before any decisions are made
  • Uphold the organisation rules as written in the governing document
  • Promote and represent the organisation
  • Resolve conflicts and disagreements through discussion
  • Maintain neutrality but also take charge of direction of discussion
  • Oversee the Executive Committee positions to ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibilities, providing advice and ideas as needed


  • Hold a current or have applied for an NT Working with Children Ochre Card


  • Prior experience with MyNT and/or other youth-led projects in the NT
  • Sound understanding of and commitment to youth participation principles and practice
  • Strong cross cultural communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop and facilitate collaboration between both young people and agency representatives
  • Demonstrated team management skills
  • Experience working on project development and implementation, including consultation, program planning, evaluation, budgeting, funding submissions and acquittals
  • Comfortable with a variety of computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of current issues affecting young people from diverse backgrounds in the NT
