SECRETARY

This is a voluntary position with a focus on development and distribution of the agenda before a meeting and accurate recording of minutes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate record and keep minutes of all meetings

  • Takes attendance at each meeting and keeps records of absences with and without apologies

  • Distribute minutes immediately to all relevant members after a meeting

  • Prepare and distribute the agenda items before a meeting

  • Take active role in decision-making

  • Assist in representing the organsation to external stakeholders

  • Provide general assistance to the Chairperson and Vice)Chair of MyNT in general leadership of the organisation

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • Hold a current or have applied for an NT Working with Children Ochre Card

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Sound understanding of and commitment to youth participation principles and practice

  • Strong cross cultural communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Comfortable with a variety of computer applications, especially Microsoft Word

  • Demonstrated understanding of current issues affecting young people from diverse backgrounds in the NT

  • Willingness to participate in a variety of activities and to learn new skills

TREASURER

This is a voluntary position with a focus on overseeing all of MyNT’s financial transactions and developing finance procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee financial transactions and resources of the organisations

  • Develop and monitor financial procedures with input from the MyNT Executive Committee

  • Provide a treasurer’s report at every meeting

  • Provide a cash flow report to MyNT Executive and MCNT as required

  • Develop and monitor MyNT budget with input from the MyNT Executive Committee

  • Authorise financial transactions

  • Take active role in decision-making

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • Hold a current or have applied for an NT Working with Children Ochre Card

  • Sound knowledge of financial procedure

GENERAL EXECUTIVE MEMBER (GEM)

This is a voluntary position with a focus on providing input on all facets of the Executive body and taking responsibility of higher duties if required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take active role in decision-making, providing ideas and suggestions regarding all areas of MyNT

  • Take responsibility of higher duties if any positions are temporarily available

  • Take responsibility for certain projects and/or activities of MyNT and act as liaison between the Executive Committee and the Project Leader/Team Coordinator
